Black Horse, Wigginton

Black Horse, Wigginton

The Black Horse, Wigginton, situated on the main street of the village, is a friendly local which offers a warm welcome to anyone passing through. The pub has a long linear bar offering a range of beer, wines and spirits to suit all tastes and there is ample room for dining and drinking. It is run by Paul and Diane Watkinson who have made a great effort to support cask ales. There are three handpumps, with John Smith’s Cask, Black Sheep Best Bitter and Theakston’s Bitter featuring on two of them, whilst one is set aside for a rotating guest which has recently featured beers from Cropton, Copper Dragon and Hambleton. It’s open from 12 every day (until midnight on Friday and Saturday), with food served Monday to Saturday 12 to 8pm; there’s also a beer garden for the summer months.
