Socials
We organise a wide variety of social events, e.g. pub crawls (on foot and by bike), brewery visits, presentations to our Pubs of the Season. We also hold a monthly branch meeting. At these, there's a concise agenda, but the formal business never lasts long and is conducted in a fairly light-hearted way. We discuss anything and everything to do with beer and pubs. Come along and swap pub and brewery news, help us choose our Pubs of the Season, find out about our plans for social events, get your hands on Ouse Boozer as soon as it is published and generally discover what makes the branch tick. There is always plenty of time for socialising during the evening and newcomers are always welcome.

Forthcoming Branch Events

Friday May 9th – First cycle ride of the new season, starting from the Swan, Clementhorpe. Meet at 7pm for a 7.30pm start. Gentle rides around a few pubs, tailored to the enthusiasm and fitness of those who turn up on the night, subject to the whims of the weather. Designer bikes and lycra gear not required: the only necessity is a set of working lights.

Saturday May 10th – Town Spring Pub of the Season presentation to the Lysander Arms, Rawcliffe at 1pm.

Tuesday May 13th – Young members monthly meeting at Sun Inn, Acomb, 8pm.

Saturday May 24th - Young members trip to Rudgate Brewery, Tockwith. Depart Memorial Gardens, Leeman Road at midday. Leave brewery approx. 4pm. Cost £5 for buffet and several pints of ale + cost of transport (TBC).

Tuesday May 27th – Branch meeting at the Golden Ball, 8.30pm. Summer Ouse Boozer will be available for distribution.

Friday May 30th – Friday Five pub crawl, calling at: Masons Arms 7.30pm; Swan 8pm; Trafalgar Bay 8.30pm; Brigantes 9pm; Ackhorne 9.30pm.

Friday June 6th – Cycle ride, starting from the Saddle, Fulford. Meet at 7pm for a 7.30pm start.

Wednesday June 11th – Young members monthly meeting at Swan, Clementhorpe.

Saturday June 28th – Young members country pub survey trip by minibus.

Wednesday July 9th – Young members monthly meeting at Ye Olde Starre Inn, Stonegate.

Saturday July 19th – Young members trip to Keighley & Worth Valley railway with Scarborough CAMRA.

August, date TBC – Young members crawl from Fulford into York.

Wednesday August 13th – Young members monthly meeting at Judge’s Lodging, Lendal.

September, date TBC – Young members crawl in Scarborough with the Scarborough branch.

Wednesday September 10th – Young members monthly meeting at Tap & Spile, Monkgate.

Wednesday October 15th – Young members monthly meeting at Brigantes, Micklegate.

Wednesday November 12th – Young members monthly meeting at Victoria, Heslington Road.

Wednesday December 10th – Young members monthly meeting at The Mount, The Mount.

Wednesday January 9th – Young members monthly meeting at Ackhorne, St Martins Lane.

Wednesday February 11th – Young members monthly meeting at Golden Slipper, Goodramgate.
